Korean lacquer art practice known as Ottchil has been used by skilled artists for
thousands of years. Master Ottchil artist Sungsoo Kim learned the Mother of Pearl
lacquerware finish and wood work process, and developed his own techniques
with the unconventional use of materials. The beauty of form, colour and nature
are blended with the special inlay technique on a variety of materials.

Kim and his Ottchil students visit from Korea to sharethe mesmerising beauty
and techniques of Ottchil art.

All works, mother-of-pearl and Ottchil on Ottchil wood canvas.
